PLANTING OUR SIGNATURE SEED PAPER

The paper cards that come with all our jewelry pieces is pretty special! It’s handmade from  “tree-free” pulp made from 100% recycled cotton from t’shirt material. Every paper card contains North American wildflower seeds that can be planted in your garden!

The blend of seeds contains: Snapdragons, Petunias, Daisies, Poppies, Foxgloves, Thyme, Chamomile, Maiden Pinks, Catchflies and Beardtongues.

Getting our seed paper to sprout relies on your gardening abilities, we do not offer a guarantee that every customer will be successful in this process. There are too many factors that come into play and too much that can go wrong for us to take the responsibility of elements that we cannot control, like soil temperature, acidity, watering, sunlight and planting depth. Rigid testing has been done to ensure that every batch of paper made contains enough viable seeds for each item that we sell to have the potential for growth.

How to ensure a successful planting:

  1. Place our seed paper card in an airtight zip lock plastic sandwich bag.
  2. Place a tablespoon of water (or enough to fully saturate the paper) in the bag and then seal the bag and trap a bit of air inside it so it forms a bubble to keep both sides of the bag from touching.
  3. Do this in a room that has an ambient temperature of at least 72 degrees and allow the bag to be touched by sunlight for a few hours each day. You will see evidence of the seeds growth within 10 days time.
  4. Once you see the sprouts roots searching for soil, transfer the paper from the bag into a pot (or garden) with a light covering of soil and continue nursing the seedlings along by daily watering.

We source our seed paper from a small business that has been making seed paper for over 20 years and they are confident that their seed paper will sprout if you follow these instructions.

Happy planting!
